THE SHORT STORY

Sean Kearney is a stand-up multimedian, consultant, researcher, writer, futurist, husband and father who lives in Castle Rock, Colorado. His primary interest and expertise is in supporting human performance improvement initiatives for increasing human intelligence, enhancing creative collaboration, and supporting the informal social networks where learning and performance improvement really happen.

Patternhunter Inc. / Castle Rock, CO / CEO / 2006 - Present

  • Consulting and software development related to performance management, organizational learning, elearning, knowledge management, and social network analysis.
  • Exploring options for peer-to-peer knowledge sharing practices integrating augmented social networks, reputation systems, performance metrics, self-paced training and individual coaching systems
  • Designed and supported a program for Time Warner Cable National Division's newest customer care call center where trainees achieve baseline proficiency with two weeks of training.

TechWise / Colorado Springs, CO / Head Coach / 2004 - 2006

  • Manage a team of more than 30 employees and contractors responsible for operations, human resources / organizational development, legal, accounting, program management and security.
Invisible Learning / Denver, CO / Executive Producer / 2003 - 2004
  • Co-founded (with Jon Folkestad) a consulting and software development company specializing in informal communication, collaborative learning and corporate innovation.
  • Clients included Comcast, Qwest, Best Buy, Colorado State University, the Japanese E-Learning Delegation and Organic People.
AT&T Broadband / Denver, CO / 1995 - 2003
  • Managed a team of three Directors and up to 30 training specialists (including contractors) to support systems and customer care training design and delivery for three lines of business (video, high-speed data and HFC telephony).
  • Designed training strategy, developed materials and managed delivery of courses to more than 14,000 users in over 150 centers including support for the largest billing systems conversion in the history of the telecommunications industry while saving more than $7 million (when compared to vendor-recommended strategy).
  • Designed and delivered a sales training program that resulted in a 230% increase in sales revenue within 30 days of implementation.
  • Designed and implemented a company-wide website that received 1.8 million+ hits annually from 5,000 + repeat users. This site also supported more than 6,000 Methods & Procedures changes in 2001.
  • Designed and implemented a variety of desktop and web-based simulations and self-paced training modules resulting in a savings of more than $150,000 per year.
  • Designed and implemented TrainTrax, a web-based project management tool and learning management system used to capture and automatically compile reports regarding issues, trends, attendance, confirmation of learning scores, training evaluation scores, contact information and project tracking.

  • Designed and delivered customized training to sales professionals in technology industries while guaranteeing a minimum of 12.5% increase in revenue within 30 days of delivery.
